Best Emerging Comedy Award Nominee – Adelaide Fringe Festival

With an infectious mix of irreverence and enthusiastic optimism, Kent Valentine is one of the most dynamic comedians on the Australian comedy landscape – and now he’s arrived on the British comedy scene. His unique style combines the unbridled passion of Brendan Burns and the easy, affable charm of Adam Hills.

His last three solo shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival – ‘
Be My (Kent) Valentine’, ‘What Would Batman Do?’ and ‘A Fistful of Rainbows’ – consistently earned him a place as one of The Age’s top picks of the Festival, and his 2006 Adelaide Fringe show with fellow comedian Sam Bowring garnered him a nomination for Best Emerging Comedy.
He’s supported the likes of Arj Barker, Pauly Shore and Tom Gleeson on tour, as well as hosting his own open mic night since 2003 and making appearances all over Australia.

In 2005, he was one of 4 new Australian comics selected to perform in The Comedy Zone, a festival run show that showcases Australia's best new talent, and he’s had a regular guest spot on the Triple J radio breakfast show with Adam Spencer and Wil Anderson – as well as hosting his own late night shifts. He now files regular opinion pieces and reviews for RoveDaily.com.au.
